Crucial Health and Safety Training
Improving the safety of your working environment reduces the risk of finding yourself in a legal battle. Our health and safety training, in Reading, Berkshire, teaches your staff the importance of working safely.
Importance
On average, over a five-year period, 220 people are killed each year in accidents at work, while more than one million people are injured, and more than two million suffer illnesses caused by, or exacerbated by, their work. Preventing accidents and ill-health caused by work is a key priority for everyone involved with a business.
Safety
The human element, alongside occupational and environmental factors, majorly contributes to work accidents. Ignorance, complacency, haste, and distraction all contribute to an unsafe working environment. Training can have a positive impact on the working practices of a workforce. If your employees are informed and understand health and safety actions, they are more likely to follow safe working procedures.
This will help to reduce time lost acidents and inproves productivity.
Owner
As the owner or manager of a business, you know just how valuable competent employees are. Providing health and safety information and training helps you to ensure that your employees are not injured or made ill by the work that they do, and develop a positive health and safety culture where working safely becomes second nature to them. It will also:
• Increase Productivity • Increase
Profitability • Increase Workforce
Morale • Reduce
Absenteeism
Effective Training
Effective training will contribute
towards making your employees competent in health and safety, help your
business avoid the distress that accidents and ill-health cause, and help you
avoid the financial costs of accidents and occupational ill health. Don’t
forget that your insurance doesn’t cover all these costs, and damaged products,
reduced production, and de-motivated staff are the result.
Legal
Whether you feel it is integral or
not, it is a legal requirement for your staff to be health-and-safety-trained.
The law requires that you provide whatever information, instruction, and
training necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health
and safety of your employees.
We can also provide IOSH accredited
courses: Managing Safely: a 4 or 5-day course for managers, shift leaders,
supervisors, etc; and Working Safely: a 1-day course for any employee whose
work exposes them to risk.
