Investors in People

Investors in People is a national standard, which sets out a level of good practice for the learning and development of people to achieve business goals. It provides organisations with a framework to improve business performance and competitiveness, through a planned approach to setting and communicating business objectives and developing teams to meet those objectives.

The IiP advice service will guide you through the process of becoming an Investors in People employer from preparation through to accreditation. You will be assigned an experienced consultant who will work with you and advise you every step of the way. Your consultant will carry out an initial review of your organisation’s current position against the IiP standard; they will work with you to develop an action plan to address any gaps identified; they will support and guide you throughout the implementation of the action plan and then help you prepare for the IiP assessment.

CORPORATE MANSLAUGHTER AND CORPORATE HOMICIDE ACT

Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act came into force on the 6th of April 2008. For the first time companies and organisations can be found guilty of corporate manslaughter.

This new Act, although not part of th Health and Safety law it introduces a new element in the corproate management of health and safety.
