IOSH MANAGING SAFELY
DELEGATE SUITABILITY Managing Safely is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It’s designed to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams. The flexible new high impact programme covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment too.
DURATION The course lasts for 24 hours. We realise the difficulty of releasing management for 4 consecutive days so we have tailored the course to run for 2 days a week over 2 weeks.

IOSH WORKING SAFELY
DELEGATE SUITABILITY Working safely is for people at any level, in any sector, needing a grounding in the essentials of health and safety. Everyone at work should have an understanding of why they must ‘work safely’ – and this course offers exactly that. Working safely: introducing a completely new approach to health and safety training .

DIRECTORS HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
DELEGATE SUITABILITY This course is aimed at all Chairpersons, Directors, and Company Secretaries who are responsible for the well being of a company to ensure their employees are working in a safe environment.
This training session will help Directors to ensure that the health and safety risks arising from their organisation’s activities are properly managed. The focus is mainly on the he alth and safety responsibilities of Chairpersons, Company Directors and Company Secretaries.

PRINCIPLES OF RISK ASSESSMENTS
DELEGATE SUITABILITY Aimed at managers/supervisors who have a responsibility to ensure their staff are working in a safe environment.
The aim of this course is to train nominated managers/supervisors in the principles of risk assessments. Topics covered:
DURATION 1 Day
CONTENT The topics covered are:
1. Legislation relating to risk assessments 2. Generic assessments 3. Scope of assessments 4. General principles of prevention 5. Methods of risk reduction 6. Assessment reviews 7. Further assessments 8. Introduction of the 5 steps to risk assessment: Look for hazards; Decide who might be harmed, and how; Evaluate the risks arising from the hazards and decide whether existing precautions are adequate or more should be done; Record your findings; Review your assessment from time to time and revise if necessary 9. Risk action programme 10. Risk estimation & necessary action & timing 11. Practical assessment
On completion of this course all delegates will able to participate effectively in the risk evaluation process by fully understanding the risk assessment duty necessitated by legislation, the company procedure and their role.
This would ensure that management, at all levels, would be familiar with their assessment roles and in particular ensure that they:
1. Are active in providing necessary information to staff on hazards and the effective control measures 2. Are aware of the need for their departments' compliance with health and safety legislation 3. Are fully conversant with the company health and safety policy and the integral part that risk assessments have in this document 4. FIRE MARSHAL TRAINING
Training Includes a PowerPoint presentation on:

"HANDS ON" STAFF TRAINING: The “HANDS ON TRAINING” session comprises the following four stages:
TALK: Classification of fire Types of extinguishers and their suitability for specific fire risks British Standard/European signage legislation and how to use an extinguisher
DVD: 22 minute DVD called "Fire Safety for Industry".
HANDS-ON PRACTICAL TRAINING: Use of extinguishers and a fire blanket on various types of controlled live fires in a suitable location outside.

OFFICE SAFETY
